About Us
The Youth Transition Network is a coalition of youth, college and military ministries that are working together to prepare, motivate and transition our youth into the next phase of their Christian walk, so that they continue as a vital part of the Body of Christ. History
YTN began as Ministry Edge in Arizona when a visionary idea was formed by a small group of ministries at Arizona State University. As the project grew, it became evident that it would require a focused effort to effectively address the research that 50% to 88% of Christian students exiting high school fall away. This gave rise to Ministry Edge in May 2004 as it became clear that a clean, neutral organization would be necessary to link the vast diversity of college and high school ministries already in place.
This multi-dimensional issue requires ministries to work together in an unprecedented manner. As a result, the National Network of Youth Ministries and Mission America became involved with the effort to decrease the loss of youth in 2005 forming the Youth Transition Network with the assets of Ministry Edge. The Youth Transition Network is devoted to:
- Increasing the awareness of the issue nationally
- Assembling a coalition of ministries to address the loss of youth
- Implementing a nationwide effort to motivate and prepare our youth
- Establishing a bridge for students between high school and college, career and military ministries
One of the strategies is an internet portal (LiveAbove.com) designed to bring high school students together with college, career and military ministries, enabling relationships to be formed before high school students leave home. To learn more about this site, click here.
